Plasma Car Time

Toddler ages: 22 months, 22 months

Materials you'll need:
-PlasmaCar

Normally I wouldn't promote a TV-Free Toddler Time activity that requires material many people don't have, but this product is so awesome, I just had to share.

The Plasma Caris a children's riding device I was introduced to by a dear friend who has an 8-year-old son with spina bifida. This car is amazing because it is meant to be maneuvered by hand, not necessarily by foot (although the twins haven't figured that part out yet). For my friend's son, it is not only a toy, but a mobility device as well, and goes with him to parties, play dates and parks.

When my family would go to visit, this boy would have great fun giving the kids rides on his car, and even sharing when he didn't feel like he needed it to get around. Thus, I knew these would make the perfect Christmas gifts for the twins....and the 3-year-old boy....and the 7-year-old girl! So we ordered them, and because we did Christmas this morning as we are going out of town early next week, this is how the twins spent most of their day. The TV never came on once, and it was awesome!

Here they are...

Twin B getting ready for a round about the house...

Said twin having WAY too much fun...

Twin B riding to the end of the racetrack...

(P.S. The furry thing lying in the hallway is a badger puppet. I just didn't feel like bending over to pick it up for the photo shoot.)

Twin A following his brother...

...and arriving with him at the finish line...

Twins A and B making the turn-around and coming back for the finish...

Okay, not quite finished yet...taking a trip to the living room...

Striking twin poses...

Twin A needs to see what's wrong under the hood...

...and Twin B needs to imitate...

This play time actually went on and off for most of the day. I don't think we have made such a wise investment in a long, long time.

If you don't have or don't plan on buying a Plasma Car, why not wash off the outdoor riding toys and bring them into the warmth for some TV-free fun!

Thanks for listening!

  1. I love your blog. Looks like you have so much fun with your children. We have 8 children and no tv, so I'm sure I could use some of your ideas!
